August 2013 Vietnamese shrimp exports grew 38%

Vietnamese aquatic products processing and export association (Vasep) Secretary-General Zhang Tinghuai revealed that this year in August , shrimp exports reached 280 million U.S. dollars , an increase of 38 percent , the first 8 months of total shrimp exports increased to $ 1.67 billion , an increase of 18%.

     Zhang Tinghuai said that the current shrimp aquaculture product exports contribution to Vietnam more . Expected in the coming months , shrimp export prices will continue to rise along with the amount of such exports increased significantly.

     Based on 2013 8 months, and white shrimp exports growth rate of 150% , and the first eight months of this year the figure was 65 percent , in August this year , shrimp exports reached 280 million U.S. dollars , an increase of 38 percent , the first eight months, total exports of shrimp increased to $ 1.67 billion , an increase of 18%.

     On the contrary, this year in August , Charles , tuna fish exports to its downward trend . Among them, check the fish, such as tuna and cuttlefish and octopus export value decreased by 14% , 25% and 10.7%.

     Eight months of 2013 , Vietnam 's total exports to check the fish only up $ 1.13 billion , tuna exports totaled $ 376 million , respectively, representing a decrease of 2.5% and 5% . Expected this year, after a few months , because the product unstable supply and demand for raw materials has not been restored and other reasons, the Vietnamese aquaculture exports continued to show a downward trend.

     Vietnamese aquatic products processing and export association said in August this year , the Vietnamese aquatic products exports amounted to approximately $ 590 million , an increase of 4.5 to 5% , the first eight months of 2013 amounted to aquatic exports $ 4.1 billion , an increase of 2.5%.
